My 9 yr. old is 4'7", 64 lbs. He's tall for his age, but very thin. The med. is a little big , with plenty of room to grow. I assumed that in 8-20 sizes, med. would be equivalent to 10-12. Had little to no shrinkage if washed in cold. Hope that helps.

Not sure, but my son is 4'7" and likes his shirts a little big. the med. is a good length. Plenty of room to grow. I assumed by the 8-20 category that Med. would be about a 10-12, and it seems to be.
