I'm 5' 9" and a D cup too. I think X-Lg. would be too tight in this material, though I don't have this shirt. The Tee I bought in X-Lg. is snug, but thin and stretchy, so will wear. In chiffon though, I bought a plus size 1X. It's a little big, but w/o flexible material, I go a size up. Wish they had more misses-type sizes, plus is a little big in the rib cage, etc., but large/x-lg. is snug in the bust. Will mainly be buying shoes/boots and clothes for my husband and kids, as it seems like the ("womens"/juniors/misses?) clothing is sized for juniors and the plus is a tad big on me. Need to have either just an X plus(if running large), or xx-large in the other sizes, if they re going to run small. I'd love to try the jeans, but have no idea if they'd fit. At other stores I can wear anywhere from a med- ex-large misses(or 13-15 junior),to a small or med. plus(12-16). but not usually 1X( a little too big, but no other choice here).

After further research, this item runs true-to-size. Here is a general size chart for more information.
